   What types of Pain are Treated?

We treat the following types of pain ( as with most health problems, the earlier the treatment, the better the chances of relieving the pain):
  •     Facial pain
  •     Neck/shoulder & back pain.
  •     Lower back and leg pain (lumbago and sciatica).
  •     Herniated disc.
  •     Muscle (myofascial)pain.
  •     Neuralgia or pain following a nerve injury.

  •     Pain following amputation (phantom pain).

   Methods of Pain Relief

We offer the following types of pain relief:
  •     Nerve blocks. (interruption of pain pathways).
  •     Epidural steroid injections. (to reduce swelling around nerves).
  •     Trigger point injections. (to relieve pain in specific areas).
  •     Acupuncture.
  •     Physical therapy and an exercise program.
  •     Social services and occupational therapy.
  •     Prescribing or rearranging medicationsl (to relieve pain and avoid       drug abuse).
  •     Psychotherapy and behavioral modification.
  •     Stress Management.
  •     Biofeedback.
  •     Drug detoxification.
  •     Nerve stimulation. (TENS and dorsal column stimulators).
  •     Morphine pumps.

   Referrals

Patients may be referred to Garden State Pain Management by a physician or other health care provider, or may enroll in the program without a referral.

Your referring physician remains in charge, and we maintain mcommunication with him or her-discussing and reporting your progress so that wwe may work together to resolve your pain problems.

   Fees and Insurance

Garden State Pain Management fees consist of the physician's fee and, if treatments are performed in a hospital, a hospital charge. They are based upon the amount of time spent with the patient as well as the medical complexities and technical skills required for each particular problem. You or your insurance company will be billed after completion of a single procedure or consultation, or after a series of procedures. Fees are payable to Garden State Pain Management, P.A..

Garden State Pain Management's office personnel can discuss your insurance coverage with you and help make arrangements for payment. Insurance or worker's compensation may cover all or part of the program's charges.
